Genesis (Bere'shiyth) 9

1 Yahuah (Yah) blessed Nuach (Noah) and his sons and told them, "Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth again. 2 The fear and dread of you will be on every beast of the earth, every bird of the air, everything that moves on the ground, and all the fish of the sea; they’ve been delivered into your hand. 3 Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I’ve now given you everything. 4 But you must not eat meat with its life still in it—that is, its blood. 5 I’ll certainly demand an account for your lifeblood; I’ll demand it from every animal and from every human. I’ll demand the life of any person from their fellow human being. 6 Whoever sheds a person’s blood, by a person will their own blood be shed; for Yahuah (Yah) made mankind in his own image. 7 As for you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out across the earth and multiply in it." 8 Then Yahuah (Yah) spoke to Nuach and to his sons with him, saying, 9 "Look, I’m establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you—the birds, the livestock, and every wild animal—all those that came out of the ark, every beast of the earth. 11 I’ll establish my covenant with you: never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; there will never again be a flood to destroy the earth." 12 Yahuah (Yah) said, "This is the sign of the covenant I’m making between me and you and every living creature with you, for all generations to come: 13 I’ve placed my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 It will happen that when I bring a cloud over the earth, the rainbow will be seen in the cloud. 15 Then I’ll remember my covenant between me and you and every living creature of every kind; the waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. 16 The rainbow will be in the cloud; I’ll look at it to remember the everlasting covenant between Yahuah (Yah) and every living creature of all life on the earth." 17 Yahuah (Yah) said to Nuach, "This is the sign of the covenant I’ve established between me and all life on the earth." 18 The sons of Nuach who went out of the ark were Shem, <span class="ytc-term" data-term="Cham" title="Means 'hot' or 'burnt.'
