The land of bondage for the children of Yash...">Mitsrayim (Egypt). Potiphar (Potiphar), a Mitsriy (Egyptian) officer of Pharaoh (Pharaoh) and captain of the guard, bought him from the Yishma'eliym (Ishmaelites) who had brought him there. 2 Yahuah (Yah) was with Yoseph (Joseph), and he became a successful man; he lived in the house of his master, the Mitsriy (Egyptian). 3 His master saw that Yahuah (Yah) was with him and that Yahuah made everything he did successful. 4 Yoseph (Joseph) found favor in his master's sight and served him. His master appointed him as overseer of his house and put him in charge of everything he owned. 5 From the moment the master appointed him as overseer of his house and everything he owned, Yahuah (Yah) blessed the Mitsriy’s (Egyptian’s) house for Yoseph’s (Joseph’s) sake. Yahuah’s blessing was on everything he owned, both in the house and in the field. 6 The master left everything he had in Yoseph’s (Joseph’s) hands. With Yoseph there, he didn't concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Yoseph was well-built and handsome. 7 After some time, his master’s woman cast her eyes on Yoseph (Joseph) and said, "Lie with me." 8 But he refused and said to his master’s woman, "Look, with me here, my master doesn't worry about anything in the house; he has put everything he owns into my hands. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. He hasn't kept anything back from me except yourself, because yourself are his woman. How then could I do this great wickedness and sin against Yahuah (Yah)?" 10 Even though she spoke to Yoseph (Joseph) day after day, he wouldn't listen to her or lie beside her or even be with her. 11 One day, he went into the house to do his work while none of the household men were inside.
