Genesis (Bere'shiyth) 32
1 Early in the morning Laban (Laban) got up, kissed his sons and daughters, and blessed them. Then Laban left and returned home. 2 Yaakov (Jacob) went on his way, and the malakiym (messengers) of Yahuah (Yah) met him. 3 When Yaakov saw them, he said, "This is Yahuah (Yah)'s camp." So he named that place Machanayim (Two Camps). 4 Yaakov sent malakiym ahead of him to his brother Esau (Esau) in the land of Seir (Seir), the territory of Edom (Edom). 5 He commanded them, saying, "This is what you'll say to my master Esau: 'Yourself servant Yaakov says, "I've stayed with Laban and remained there until now. 6 I have oxen, donkeys, and flocks, along with male and female servants. I've sent this message to tell my master, so that I might find favor in yourself sight."'" 7 The malakiym returned to Yaakov and said, "We went to yourself brother Esau. He's coming to meet yourself now, and he has four hundred men with him." 8 Yaakov was terrified and distressed. He divided the people who were with him, along with the flocks, herds, and camels, into two camps. 9 He said, "If Esau comes to one camp and attacks it, the remaining camp can escape." 10 Then Yaakov said, "Yahuah (Yah) of my father Avraham (Abraham) and Yahuah (Yah) of my father Yitschaq (Isaac), Yahuah (Yah)—yourself said to me, 'Return to yourself country and yourself relatives, and I'll treat yourself well.' 11 I'm not worthy of all the kindness and faithfulness yourself have shown yourself servant. I crossed this Yardan (Jordan) with only my staff, and now I've become two camps. 12 Please rescue me from the hand of my brother Esau. I'm afraid he'll come and attack me, including the mothers and the children. 13 Yourself said, 'I'll certainly treat yourself well and make yourself offspring like the sand of the sea, which is too numerous to count.'" 14 He stayed there that night.
