Genesis (Bere'shiyth) 3
1 The serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field that Yahuah (Yah) had made. He said to Chavah (Eve), "Did Yahuah (Yah) really say, 'You shouldn't eat from every tree in the garden'?" 2 Chavah (Eve) said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden; 3 but regarding the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, Yahuah (Yah) has said, 'You shouldn't eat it, and you shouldn't touch it, or you'll die.'" 4 The serpent said to Chavah (Eve), "You certainly won't die! 5 Yahuah (Yah) knows that the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you'll be like Elohiym, knowing good and evil." 6 When Chavah (Eve) saw that the tree was good for food, beautiful to look at, and desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to Adam (Adam), her man, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves. 8 They heard the sound of Yahuah (Yah) walking in the garden in the cool of the day, so Adam and Chavah (Eve) hid themselves from Yahuah’s presence among the trees of the garden. 9 Yahuah (Yah) called to Adam and said to him, "Where is Adam?" 10 He answered, "I heard my Creator's voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." 11 Yahuah (Yah) asked, "Who told Adam that he was naked? Has Adam eaten from the tree I commanded him not to eat from?" 12 Adam said, "The woman Chavah (Eve), whom yourself gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it." 13 Yahuah (Yah) said to Chavah (Eve), "What is this that Eve has done?" Chavah (Eve) said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." 14 Yahuah (Yah) said to the serpent, "Because yourself have done this, yourself are cursed more than all the livestock and every wild animal. Yourself will crawl on yourself belly and eat dust all the days of yourself life. 15 I'll put hostility between yourself and Chavah (Eve), and between yourself offspring and her offspring; he'll crush yourself head, and yourself will strike his heel." 16 To Chavah (Eve) he said, "I'll greatly increase yourself pain in childbirth; yourself will give birth to children in pain. Yourself desire will be for Adam, yourself man, and he'll rule over yourself." 17 To Adam he said, "Because yourself listened to the voice of Chavah (Eve) yourself woman and ate from the tree I commanded yourself not to eat from, the ground is cursed because of yourself. Yourself will struggle to eat from it all the days of yourself life.
